Nintendo eShop
This page will contain information on the upcoming Nintendo eShop which will launch on June 6th(NA) and June 7th(JP, EU, AU) via a firmware update. The firmware update will also unlock the web browser feature for the 3DS, as well as provide an update to SpotPass so it can access random WiFi networks when outside of your primary connection. Nintendo DSi to 3DS transfer will also be enabled, allowing you to transfer certain DSiWare software, as well as your photos & music to your Nintendo 3DS.
The Nintendo eShop features downloadable software for the Nintendo 3DS system. This includes Virtual Console software for legacy game systems such as the GameBoy, GameBoy Color, and several other platforms (ex. TurboGrafx-16, Sega Game Gear). Nintendo has taken it upon themselves to update some classic games in their 3D Classics line such as Excitebike for the NES, featuring stereoscopic 3D graphics. Original games and software are also in development for the system from various publishers and should be unveiled over the next couple of months.
