Rumor: Massive Project Cafe details

First things first, although these rumors may seem almost true (and too good to be true), I kind of get the feeling that some of it may actually be real. However, since we are two days away, I don’t expect anyone to believe this rumor stuff. Several more things such as the controller and games will be posted after the break. I am really excited, I can’t believe we will finally see and hear about the new Nintendo console on Tuesday, and perhaps the true name? ūüėÄ

The System
* Uses a custom IBM triple-core CPU running at 3.6GHz per core
* The development kit contains 1gb RAM, but Nintendo have hinted that the console will actually have 1.5gb
* Nintendo will be releasing games that will run 1080p natively. Sources say that with Nintendo‚Äôs art style and the power the system has, the games look ‚Äėstunning‚Äô.
* The system does run on AMD R700 card, but the architecture is slightly different and the clock speeds are much higher.
* The System resembles JPN/EU SNES machines in color only and not in shape
* The development kit is about the size of a 360, not the console
* Close sources say it‚Äôs as if Nintendo is in ‚Äúdamage control‚ÄĚ with 3rd party developers.
* Nintendo is trying really hard to get 3rd parties on board to develop games and have offered incentives such as not releasing big-title Nintendo games in holiday seasons to compete against 3rd party titles.
* Nintendo went to many 3rd party developers on guidance on what they were after with the new console in terms of system specs, controller and online system.

Fake: Project Cafe video leak from Retailer Conference

Nintendo showed off the Cafe at the retailers meeting in Japan last week. There is a short clip floating around, although anyone should just take it as a rumor. Reminds me of one of those videos poorly rendered by the Chinese Media about western events and scandals. I’m really not liking the design in this video much, but then again this is more than likely fake. It’s pretty interesting though and seems like it is part of a much longer video since there is an abrupt cut-off. I wonder if the person who made this video is looking for attention? We won’t have to wait too much longer until the real Cafe is fully unveiled at E3 in just 20 more days!

Tecmo Koei hold an earning briefings and CEO Yoichi Erikawa spoke about supporting Project Cafe at launch. He also mentioned more support for 3DS and unannounced Sony NGP titles. We should learn about these unannounced titles in the near future.

Ubisoft Project Cafe plans reval a bit about the consoles power

Well, this is a major confirmation that Project Cafe’s specs will at least be as powerful as the PS3 and 360. Information coming tfrom Eurogamer about Ubisofts investor call today reveal the following:

Making Project Caf√© versions of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 games won’t be a stretch, according to comments from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

Speaking at an investor call today, Guillemot revealed that his teams will be able to utilise a lot of the work done on titles for the current HD consoles when developing for Nintendo’s new platform.

“The platform Nintendo is coming with is really a fantastic platform. We think it will be extremely successful,” he stated.

“What we see is that we will be able to leverage a lot of the work we do for Xbox 360 and PS3 while we create games for the platform.

“So we will not have to redo completely the games that we create. We’ll be able to use all the capacity the console is giving but also use all the work we do for the other platforms.”
