Dead Island hands on preview (G4TV)

With the launch of Dead Island around the corner (September 6th 2011), if you’re a fan of zombie killing games, you’ll probably enjoy this game. I myself am huge into games like Dead Rising. Below is part of a hands on preview of Dead Island, provided by G4TV.com… Hope you enjoy!

Dead Island. Its debut trailer was heralded as one of the most daring and emotionally-charged of all time. The slow, somber music – which I’m listening to even now as I type this preview – was even a small meme for a time, covered by Toby Turner of literal video game trailers fame and inserted into Lord of the Rings. And damn if it doesn’t make me tear up just thinking about it.

Music Of The Day: Mother 3 – Magypsy Theme – 7.11.11

Oh my goodness! I am gratefully sorry for you viewers and staff members for my absence. Even though I could upload to youtube, the site wouldn’t allow me to login or enter parts of the site due to a javascript problem, which actually was a virus / spyware thing on my computer
😦 Anyway, to celebrate my return, why not some soothing Mother 3 music that we all love…well, at least anyone who’s gay,…HAPPY, I meant happy 7_7. Also, I will try to continue bringing Music of the Day as often as I can (usually only new ones) Mondays – Fridays. Staaaaay Tuuuuuned!

Let’s Play Trine Part 1

I have finally got around to uploading part 1 of my Let’s Play of Trine. I was able to get this game through Steam for $4.50 and it is quite good for the price I paid. It was a challenging game at times but I am just not that great with keyboard controls for platformers. This is part 1 of 22, so I will be uploading another part each day (as long as I don’t forget about it, which I have for the over the past 5 days or so). So enjoy.

Ubisoft E3 Conference Summary

– Ubisoft conference starting. Yyves Guillemot onstage. Thanks everyone for their support over the last 25 years. Looks forward to another 25 years.

– Rayman Origins upcoming. Really bad but funny Shakespeare re-enactment on stage, it lightened the mood. Hand drawn graphics. game being demoed.
Very nice environments, looks gorgeous. Refers to the secondary thing following Rayman as Blue Thing. Platforming looks very well done, best platforming I have seen since New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Little bit of a tetris puzzle going on in the cave level, lots of lava, again looks gorgeous. The music is catchy. New area, at a harbour, looks gorgeous again. Underwater now, getting chased by huge works, reminds me of a Super Metroid boss. Can beat up each in multiplayer. Now you are in snowy mountains and the treasure chest that you have been chasing has been stolen, now it transitions into an flying stage that looks to be a lot of fun. A lot of buildings and such in the background, adds a lot to the environment
Demo over, looks to be a very great game. Four player co-op for the game. They open the chest and out pops Ubisoft characters from throughout the years.

– Aaron Pricemen on stage. Talking about the past. Haha talking about Driver and showed up a video of what it would look like if they released it back in the past. Now he is talking Driver San Francisco. Trailer playing. Looks to be mostly cgi trailer with a quick change to gameplay where you have a cockpit view in the vehicles. Not really impressive, uplay support.

Battlefield 3 Operation Metro Multiplayer Gameplay Trailer

EA Conference Summary

– EA conference is a go. Opens with a disaster video playing, can see Reapers attacking earth, yep it is Mass Effect. Nice opening, can see the quick destruction they are binging.

March 6 2012 release date announced. Promising an all out galatic war.
Demo incoming. Again, melee kills have been greatly improved and a focus of combat. Gameplay looks amazing, Oh why does the name escape me, the geth party member has shown up. Amazing music, absolutely amazing. Reaper is attacking, wait the whole base is an entire repear and you are fighting it on ship turrnet. Shepard calls in an airstrike and it only manages to make the reaper even angrier. Gameplay demo ends. Ok…March 6th 2012 can’t come fast enough.
Trailer is being shown, which you can see on the site. Again, the music is amazing

– Haha, EA just insulted Microsoft with saying they are keeping it simple without celebrities. Introduced new website called origin.com to view content for EA games and partner games.

– Need for Speed On The Run is being shown. Autolog being talked about. Autolog is being incorperated into the story. You will be able to leave the vehicles. Uses Frostbyte 2 engine. Li

Demo incoming. Graphics are very nice, lots of action, lighting effects are amazing. Reminds me of a combo of Burnout Paradise and Shift. You crash and a cutscene starts with quicktime events. Police helicopter is firing at you. Fighting a police officer in a quick time event and you steal an police car. Now you have to escape in less than 5 minutes and you have a police helicopter firing at you. Lots of explosions, how can they blow up innocent people, the police are truly evil in the game. They blow up a tanker and you got crashing off the intersection, thanks for increasing gas prices some more. Quick time event started to escape vehicle and there is a train coming, you barely escape and that is the end of the demo

Guild Wars 2 set for 2012 release; beta planned for later this year

Well, this is kind of disappointing that Guild Wars 2 will not come out this year, however we will still get a beta in the mean time and with recent mmo beta’s, you’ve been able to continue using your character that you used in beta, so hopefully this is the case and it is easy to get into the beta.

The Guild Wars 2 beta will begin in the second half of 2011, NCsoft has announced.

During a conference call, chief financial officer Jaeho Lee also heavily hinted at a 2012 release for the game.

“Starting from year 2012, we believe substantial growth will be driven by new blockbuster titles like [Blade & Soul] and Guild Wars 2,” announced Lee to investors.

“Also, Guild Wars 2 will go into beta testing stage in the second half of this year,” he added.

Guild Wars 2 developer ArenaNet has stuck staunchly to a ‘when it’s done’ mentality regarding the game’s release.

Guild Wars 2 was announced in 2007. Four years later, a team of 150 developers still beavers away. Guild Wars 1 may have been a breakout independent success, but Guild Wars 2 is a leviathan. And the hottest MMO prospect on the block.

“Guild Wars 2 is the most exciting MMO we’ve seen in the last three years,” wrote Oli Welsh, who saw Guild Wars 2 for Eurogamer earlier this year.
