Rumor: Could Sumo Digital be teasing Sonic VS Mario Kart?

Over on twitter, some of the developers from Sumo Digital seem to be talking about how they will follow up Sonic Racing Transformed. Take a look below:?

I honestly think it would be wonderful if Sonic were to appear in Mario Kart. But I think Mario Kart should go the way of Smash Brothers and let other characters be in it. Mario Kart is starting to get a bit stale in my opinion, even if Mario Kart 7 is a really great game. I seriously can’t wait for E3, some megatons are coming our way for sure.

Mario Kart 3DS demo gameplay

Wow, despite this being another Mario Kart game, I am really interested in it. I lost interest in the Wii game very quickly, but the DS game I still go back to and play every now and then. I can’t wait to have this in my 3DS this year, will be a lot of fun with the 8 player online with friends!

Hanglide with Mario Kart 3D this holiday season!

A New Dimension of Kart Racing

The newest installment of the fan-favorite Mario Kart™ franchise brings Mushroom Kingdom racing fun into glorious 3D. For the first time, drivers explore new competitive kart possibilities, such as soaring through the skies or plunging to the depths of the sea. New courses, strategic new abilities and customizable karts bring the racing excitement to new heights.

FEATURES:

* The Mario Kart franchise continues to evolve. New kart abilities add to the wild fun that the games are known for. On big jumps, a kart deploys a wing to let it glide over a track shortcut. When under water, a propeller pops out to help the kart cruise across the sea floor.
* Players can show their own style by customizing their vehicles with accessories that give them a competitive advantage. For instance, giant tires help a kart drive off-road, while smaller tires work best on city courses.
* People can choose to race as one of their favorite Mushroom Kingdom characters or even as their Mii™ character.
* New courses take players on wild rides over a mountain road, on city streets and through a dusty desert. Nintendo fans will recognize new courses on Wuhu Island and in the jungles from Donkey Kong Country™ Returns.
* The game supports both SpotPass™ and StreetPass™ features.
* Players can compete in local wireless matches or online over a broadband Internet connection.

I wasn’t sure what to expect out of a new Mario Kart game since I thought maybe the games had hit their prime. But now I see that Nintendo can continue to innovate in new ways. Hangliding sounds really awesome, and the underwater courses look really cool. I can’t wait to explore them while avoiding blue shells! So awesome that we are getting both Mario games this year on the 3DS! ^_^
