Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney confirmed for NA release?

Despite co-developer Level 5’s absence from TGS, we received today a titillating bit of paper from Capcom’s booth on the show floor. It’s an English-language press release for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, and while details about the game are still sparse, the release contains some promising hints that all but confirm that the game will see a release outside of Japan. For one, it notes that “English names are TBD,” which obviously suggests that there are plans to localize the game for English-speaking territories.

Furthermore, the English-language press release lists the title of the game as Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, which is the first time we’ve actually seen official documentation that refers to the title of the game using the franchises’ English-language names. MSRP is also listed as TBD.

Holy crap that would be amazing if this is true. But I guess we’ll have to wait for the official English press release to be released to the general public. I hope they announce this soon because I am really looking forward to playing this game soon as I am a huge fan of both series.

Devil May Cry TGS trailer

Well, my interest for this game has increased tenfold since I saw this trailer. Originally I didn’t really care about the game, but now it looks really cool.

Nintendo 3DS Slide Pad details, compatible games

Releases on December 10th in Japan, ¥1500, and requires 1 AAA battery

List of games compatible with the attachment:

  • Monster Hunter 3 Tri-G
  • Resident Evil: Revelations
  • Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater
  • Ace Combat 3D: Cross Rumble
  • Dynasty Warriors Vs.
  • Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

Well that certainly is an interesting list of games. I notice Nintendo didn’t reveal whether any of their games will be using the feature. I guess Nintendo wanted to give 3rd parties another option on the 3DS?

Resident Evil: Revelations TGS Trailer

Well that character obviously can’t see with that hair. But her boobs must have eyes of their own because you can sure see those.

Nazo Waku Yakata Trailer 3

Wow, this game looks really interesting and neat. However, it looks way too niche for the current Capcom to bother releasing it here. Just recently XSEED posted on twitter asking how to better advertise a game with “3D Audio or 3D Sound?” Lots of people take this as a hint of XSEED possibly bringing the game over in the future, but I seriously doubt it. :/

Resident Evil: Revelations site now open

The official website for Resident Evil: Revelations is now open around the world. The site has a trailer as well as a lot more information on the story of the game.

Resident Evil returns to survival horror with a brand new storyline and a new level of tension and intrigue. A brand new setting delivers a more tense and intriguing gameplay experience than any Resident Evil to date!. Built from the ground up to take advantage of the Nintendo 3DS features, Resident Evil Revelations delivers outstanding visuals that bring the fear to life.

The action bridges the gap between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, unveiling new adventures for Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield. Jill and her new partner, Parker Luciani, have been sent on board a supposedly abandoned cruise ship in the Mediterranean, to search for Chris Redfield, based on his last known GPS coordinates. Far from being empty, the ship hides danger around every corner as Jill and Parker explore the confined space of the ship and must face a menacing new horror that emerges from the darkness.

Adding a new unique horror setting to the series, Resident Evil Revelations gives players the chance to venture underwater as they try to escape the terrifying creatures that are roaming the ship. But even the water isn’t safe as the creatures continue to attack from the depths while Jill and Parker make a desperate bid to make it off the ship alive.

  • All new Resident Evil — New storyline featuring series favorite — Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield and introducing BSAA member Parker Luciani
  • Classic survival horror gameplay returns — Explore the dark, sinister areas of the cruise ship; there’s nowhere to run and nowhere to hide with evil creeping out of the shadows
  • Flexible touch screen functionality — Using the touch screen adds depth to puzzle solving and provides easy access to switching weapons on the fly
  • Use your equipment — Use the Genesis scanning equipment to analyze enemy weaknesses and hidden items that will prove crucial for the player’s survival
  • Brand new threat — A new kind of horror is set to join the legions of Resident Evil; for the first time ever in the series, players will encounter enemies underwater, adding a unique challenge to the mix of gameplay
  • Alternate Aiming Perspectives — Players can choose the shooting style that suits them with the ability to alternate between first and third person views to best pin point enemies

Wow, this really actually has me interested in playing Resident Evil besides the spinoff games like Mercenaries or the rail shooters. Hopefully this site opening means we will be getting the game sooner than sometime in 2012. It could be one of the games that can help sell the Nintendo 3DS if they release it soon enough.

Be sure to check out the official website for a trailer here.

Capcom officially cancels Mega Man Legends 3

We’d like to thank you for your ongoing loyal support of Mega Man Legends 3. Today, however, we must regrettably announce the discontinuation of this project.

From the outset the MML3 Project was intended to give gamers across the world insight and input into the development process. Part of this process includes an assessment of whether the title will go into full production, and is based on a number of criteria with input from different sectors of the company.

Unfortunately it was not felt that the Mega Man Legends 3 Project met the required criteria, and it is with regret that we must announce that the Mega Man Legends 3 Project has been cancelled, meaning that Capcom will not be releasing the Prototype or the full game. Additionally, updates of the Mega Man Legends Developer Room will cease as of today, though the North American Developer Room and its forums will remain open indefinitely.

We can only express our deepest apologies to all of you who have lent us your unending support, including participation in the Mega Man Legends 3 Developer Room. On behalf of the entire Legends team, please accept our sincere apology for failing to meet the expectations of the fans.

We thank you all so much for your extended support of this title and this community, and we hope that you will continue to support the Mega Man franchise as well as other Capcom games.

If you have any questions, please see the FAQ at the blog: Capcom Unity

This really sucks. I was looking forward to this game on 3DS and was one of the few Capcom games I wanted to play. I think they canceled it because Inafune left. Capcom, you disappoint me greatly.
