Rumor: Could Sumo Digital be teasing Sonic VS Mario Kart?

Over on twitter, some of the developers from Sumo Digital seem to be talking about how they will follow up Sonic Racing Transformed. Take a look below:?

I honestly think it would be wonderful if Sonic were to appear in Mario Kart. But I think Mario Kart should go the way of Smash Brothers and let other characters be in it. Mario Kart is starting to get a bit stale in my opinion, even if Mario Kart 7 is a really great game. I seriously can’t wait for E3, some megatons are coming our way for sure.

Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney confirmed for NA release?

Despite co-developer Level 5’s absence from TGS, we received today a titillating bit of paper from Capcom’s booth on the show floor. It’s an English-language press release for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, and while details about the game are still sparse, the release contains some promising hints that all but confirm that the game will see a release outside of Japan. For one, it notes that “English names are TBD,” which obviously suggests that there are plans to localize the game for English-speaking territories.

Furthermore, the English-language press release lists the title of the game as Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, which is the first time we’ve actually seen official documentation that refers to the title of the game using the franchises’ English-language names. MSRP is also listed as TBD.

Holy crap that would be amazing if this is true. But I guess we’ll have to wait for the official English press release to be released to the general public. I hope they announce this soon because I am really looking forward to playing this game soon as I am a huge fan of both series.

Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan gets a fighting game on PS3/360

Manga & Anime series Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan is getting the fighting game treatment on the PS3 & 360. The game is being published by Konami and rumors on 2ch say it was outsourced to Arc System Works, developers behind the popular BlazBlue fighting games. The video game is due out in Japan on November 17th.

The game adaptation is a team fighter, where you create a custom team from over 100 demons. You’ll make use of your fighters’ “Osore”, which is the name the manga gives to skills of its demon characters.

The game supports four player cooperative and competitive online play. There’s also an original story for the game’s story mode.

There is no word yet on this game releasing outside of Japan as the Nura manga series was just released in North America this year. Strong sales of the manga and eventual NA anime release would more than likely prompt Konami to take a chance on the title outside of Japan. We’ll bring you details if or when they are announced by Konami. I really hope it does come out here though, I’m loving the art style they are going with for the game; it’s just so colorful.

Rumor: PS Vita launching on October 28th

I’m sure you’ve heard this rumor before or something close to it. The Playstation Vita has been in the back of our minds every since it was announced. With the horrible sales of the PSP Go, many people wouldn’t think the Vita will do well. That being said, Sony recently announced PS games on Android phones. I wouldn’t expect the Vita to do that well, but then we have heard many positive things about it (like having PS3 graphic capabilities). Below is an article right out of CNET and the link to the article will be below that.

Sony’s upcoming portable game player, the PlayStation Vita, could be on store shelves October 28, a report claims.

According to gaming publication IGN, a reader sent in a flier from Blockbuster in the U.K. that lists the PlayStation Vita as launching on October 28. The flier shows the Wi-Fi-only version retailing for 229.99 pounds ($378.37) and the 3G-capable version at 279.99 pounds ($460.61).

The Vita is arguably one of the most anticipated industry launches this year. The device, which will replace the ailing PlayStation Portable, comes with a 5-inch multitouch OLED screen, dual joysticks, and both front and rear touchpads. The portable also comes with front and rear cameras for so-called augmented reality integration. According to Sony, the Vita’s graphical prowess will easily overshadow its predecessor.

Pokemon HD on WiiU: An article of ‘what if’?

What would you do if they had a Pokemon HD game on WiiU? Below is part of an article that talks about the possibility of an awesome Pokemon HD coming to WiiU. To read the full article, please follow the link at the bottom of this article. Would you buy a Pokemon HD on the WiiU? Comment below and let us know.

Pokémon is impossibly good. I mean to say that it’s impossible that a game first released in 1998 has kept me away from my Xbox 360/PS3, the pinnacles of gaming technology, for a solid week. By all conventions of technology, Pokémon should be nothing more than a fond memory. Like the briefcase cell-phone, the room-sized personal computer, and the VHS, Pokémon should have been defeated by newer technology a decade ago.

The story? Non-existent. A couple dozen lines of poorly-written dialog don’t constitute a story. The graphics? Sub-par. The gameplay? Like, three buttons and an off-switch. Pokémon is an anomaly. It shouldn’t exist in its current form. Yet it does, and does so very well. But what if Japanese developer Game Freak finally decides to stop proving wrong every convention of technology and instead starts utilizing the best hardware available to create a Pokémon game that the world has been waiting for?

Rumor: PS4 coming out next year?

Sony's PS3

Sony might end up copying Nintendo and Microsoft next year with the PS4. DigiTimes is reporting that the PS4 will be released next year and will be sporting some Kinect-like features. While this is interesting, it doesn’t supprise me too much. It would probably be good on Sony’s part to enhance features on the PS4 (adding better motion control) and releasing it as soon as possible (next year, along side the Wii U). 2012 could become a very interesting year. [UPDATE] Solatorobo headed to the US

You mentioned Solatorobo. Is it actually coming our way? (@TwilightV)

Yes, the game is headed to North America and an announcement about it should be coming your way later this month. It’s a very unique little game with some truly creative gameplay ideas built into it. It’s definitely one to keep an eye on for action-RPG fans.

Take this with a grain of salt. A viewer of this particular website asked a question of whether Solatorobo was coming stateside, and the site says that it is. It would be great if the game is coming to the US, but I’ll wait for an official announcement first. The game is due out in Europe on July 1st.

Update 4:36 PM CST
Siliconera has confirmed that Solatorobo: Red the Hunter is indeed headed to North America. They promise to reveal details of the English version that they recently played soon. All I have to say is, yay, more DS games!

Rumor: Massive Project Cafe details

First things first, although these rumors may seem almost true (and too good to be true), I kind of get the feeling that some of it may actually be real. However, since we are two days away, I don’t expect anyone to believe this rumor stuff. Several more things such as the controller and games will be posted after the break. I am really excited, I can’t believe we will finally see and hear about the new Nintendo console on Tuesday, and perhaps the true name? 😀

The System
* Uses a custom IBM triple-core CPU running at 3.6GHz per core
* The development kit contains 1gb RAM, but Nintendo have hinted that the console will actually have 1.5gb
* Nintendo will be releasing games that will run 1080p natively. Sources say that with Nintendo’s art style and the power the system has, the games look ‘stunning’.
* The system does run on AMD R700 card, but the architecture is slightly different and the clock speeds are much higher.
* The System resembles JPN/EU SNES machines in color only and not in shape
* The development kit is about the size of a 360, not the console
* Close sources say it’s as if Nintendo is in “damage control” with 3rd party developers.
* Nintendo is trying really hard to get 3rd parties on board to develop games and have offered incentives such as not releasing big-title Nintendo games in holiday seasons to compete against 3rd party titles.
* Nintendo went to many 3rd party developers on guidance on what they were after with the new console in terms of system specs, controller and online system.

Rumor: The Last Story headed to Europe

Our James McWhirter from over at the 3DS Tribe has some juicy gossip for us straight from the London MCM. Upon questioning the Nintendo representatives there this weekend, James was able to learn that we can expect to see The Last Story (Wii) released in Europe! It’s nice to see them change their minds about not releasing it here.

This should be taken with a grain of salt. With E3 just a little over a week away, I fully expect Nintendo to announce it at their conference. There is no way they would spend all of that money localizing big RPGs like Xenoblade & The Last Story and only release them in one territory. However, I can’t see them releasing them that close to each other either. Xenoblade, according to voice actors is headed to Europe & North America in September, although America hasn’t heard an official announcement as of this post.

I’m sure this rumor is likely to be more true than false since the Wii doesn’t have too much of a life left and hardly any scheduled games. Lets just wait for E3 everyone!

PSN store will NOT be up tomorrow

Contrary to rumors the PSN store will not be up tomorrow but instead by the end of May. Details can be found here.

This kinda sucks. I don’t really play games online on the PS3 so the thing I’m looking forward to most is the store coming back up.
