RaNdOmNeSs: Pokemon In Classic Literature

Below is an article from G4TV… The article is about some books that were probably read in school and that are turned into a Pokemon form. Enjoy!

Your summer reading list just got longer with the addition of these amazing Pokemon books. Geekosystem has a collection of 15 classic books you were probably assigned in high school. All of you good students who read the Sparknotes saw a noticeable lack of Pokemon in these books. That wrong has been righted.

Here are a few of my favorites.

Pokémon is impossibly good. I mean to say that it’s impossible that a game first released in 1998 has kept me away from my Xbox 360/PS3, the pinnacles of gaming technology, for a solid week. By all conventions of technology, Pokémon should be nothing more than a fond memory. Like the briefcase cell-phone, the room-sized personal computer, and the VHS, Pokémon should have been defeated by newer technology a decade ago.

The story? Non-existent. A couple dozen lines of poorly-written dialog don’t constitute a story. The graphics? Sub-par. The gameplay? Like, three buttons and an off-switch. Pokémon is an anomaly. It shouldn’t exist in its current form. Yet it does, and does so very well. But what if Japanese developer Game Freak finally decides to stop proving wrong every convention of technology and instead starts utilizing the best hardware available to create a Pokémon game that the world has been waiting for?

RNTD: Pokémon reference in AnoHana anime

So I was watching this anime called AnoHana today and they made a reference to Pokémon. The guy goes into the shop where one of his old friends work and asks for Nokémon and she asks which version it is. He wants Gold and complains that it costs too much for a 5 year old game. He pays for it and leaves but it’s obviously Emerald version. And that folks is your random “news” of the day.

I was just watching the second episode of an anime called Denpa Onno to Seishun Otoko and I heard the road to Viridian City music from the Pokémon games when they are in the classroom. How do these companies get away with it?
