Capcom talks Monster Hunter for western gamers

“All I can say is, the future for Monster Hunter fans in the west will be bright, but just as there was a sizeable gap between Freedom Unite and [Portable] 2nd, I think there’s going to be a little bit of a gap [following Monster Hunter Tri]. And exactly what form it takes, I can’t speak to — I have to unfortunately stay mum. But fear not, you guys have more goodness coming in the future.” – Vice-president of Strategic Planning & Business Development, Christian Svensson

Pokémon franchise turns 15!

Today I am happy to announce that the Pokémon series (my favorite game series of all time) has turned 15 today!!! The original Pocket Monsters Red & Greed debuted in Japan on February 27th, 1996. We got them in September 1998 as Red & Blue.

Junichi Masuda celebrated at Pokémon Center Yokohama where they also played music from Pokémon Black & White for the first time in public.

Pokémon started off with 151 of the monsters 15 years ago. As of September 2010, there are now 649 Pokémon!

I am a huge Pokémon fan having bought the manga, anime & films, toys, plushes and almost all of the games since I first played over 10 years ago.

I hope Pokémon continues the success that has never ended because each time a new chapter debuts, my interest is always reignited to 100 percent!

Atlus PR – Catherine is “Japan-only”

Some website I have never heard of called BeefJack was told by an Atlus PR person that the hit horror-erotica puzzle game for the PS3 & 360 won’t be leaving Japan. The game has gone on to outsell Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on both platforms. The only difference between the two platforms is the ladies named Catherine/Katherine on the box arts.

Catherine is a Japan-only game and there are no plans for a NA release at this time. Sorry about that!

Now that’s not saying that the game won’t be released here. Even I think it’s too niche even for Atlus to release it worldwide, who publish niche titles all the time.

I myself have played the demo, but it was so hard (and in Japanese), that I always made Vincent fall to his poor sheepish death.
